A party in the park never looked SO GOOD! Uber talented photographer, content creator and all round boss lady @jessiikawilson created the most magical pastel party for her daughter Goldie's second birthday celebration using our Pastel Cake Table Bundle - And we've broken down how you can do it too.

 1. Location

This park setting couldn't have been more perfect - water views, warm sunshine, a few trees, green grass, easy access and parking - so many boxes ticked! Space for the kids to run around and make noise, loads of room for adults and guests to mingle, beautiful backdrop for photos (very instagramable) and not having everyone at your house (aka no need to spend hours cleaning).

The downside of a party in a wide open space like a park is that it generally means there are not a lot of options with it comes decorations and where or how to hang them, but we have solved that problem with our Garland Table Stand! Such a clever tool, the stand clips onto the table and a frame (similar to tent poles) holds up your balloon garland over the table without the need for hanging. 

2. Co-ordinating Decorations 

Pastel is a perfect theme for mix and match pastel colour tones. Goldie's party colour mix also had a pop of gold and the pastel colours were carried through every decoration item - balloon garland, balloon bouquets, tassels, partyware (cups, plates, napkins) and even the sweetest fairy-floss party favours!

3. Easy Set Up

Setting up in a park can mean a lot of packing and unpacking of the car but you can simplify what you need by asking guests to BYO chairs or picnic rugs and having any hire items delivered as well. For Goldie's party there was a main cake table, a few blankets and rugs spread out for the parents and the soft play area for the kids. 
Our Pastel Cake Table Bundle includes everything to create a beautiful main cake table so all that needed to be added was the cake. All the decorations, except the DIY balloon garland kit and tassels, are ready to use straight out the box so minimal time is needed in the lead up to the party.

Our DIY Mini Balloon Garland kits take about 45min to inflate and assemble with our awesome handheld balloon pump and fits easily into any car with plenty of room to spare (front seat, backseat or boot). Best to inflate and assemble the day or night before the party, using only air (no helium required) and contain only high quality natural rubber latex balloons that are biodegradable and compostable. The garlands last for a week or more so most clients take them home after the party to hang in the kids room or donate it to the kindy.

The tassels need to be rolled and attached to the string, allow 15min for this and best done on a table in front of the TV.
Guests were invited to bring a chair if they wanted and the soft play setup was delivered right to the park.

1. Have a wet weather plan
2. Know what the sun/shade and parking situation is and how busy the park might be at the time and day of your party
3. Have others bring items you need - cake, table, chairs, blankets or hire a full picnic set up
4. Assemble, unpack, prepare all the decorations and food the day before
5. Pack the car the night before
